182 000 kronor till välgörenhet 2017

”Ha roligt och sanden – och hjälp människor på samma gång” är mottot för BeachAid. Under förra året arrangerade vi ett 50-tal BeachAid-tävlingar där alla startavgifter oavkortat gick till välgörenhet. Tillsammans med överskott från läger och rankinggrundnade tävlingar kunde spelarna se till att drygt 182 000 kronor gick till olika projekt under förra året, enligt följande:

Beachvolleyprojekt i Kongo: 23 000 kr
Vattenprojekt Indien: 20 000 kr

Skolprojekt i Syrien/Libanon: 34 000 kr
Aidsprojekt i södra Afrika: 71 000 kr
IM:s arbete med ensamkommande flyktingar: 14 000 kr
Beachvolley mot cancer: 20 000 kr

Under fjolåret utsågs även BeachAids initiativtagare och projektledare Tomas Arvidson till ”Årets ledare” inom Svensk volleyboll.

Även i år fortsätter BeachAid att arrangera välgörenhetsturneringar, bland annat under BeachAid Camp (v 26) och BeachAid Week (v29) på Bödagården på Öland där man bygger upp en arena med 16 planer.

Sandra Arvidson (bilden) var en av de spelare som deltog i BeachAid-tävlingar på Bödagården, Öland. Bara från tävlingarna på Böda kunde BeachAid skicka 71 000 kronor till aids-bekämpning i södra Afrika.
